We are looking for keen and motivated candidates with experience in this sector and from other High Integrity Systems industries to join our busy teams. From the moment that man first walked on the moon, the space industry has led the way. Software-based space systems have enabled great things. On a global scale, for example positioning and using satellite systems to accurately monitor the planet’s health. Monitoring carbon emissions and ensuring that accurate weather forecasting becomes the norm. Relaying information to remote regions of the globe to educate the masses, or assist with relief aid in disaster areas.
On a local scale, helping people to precisely navigate their way around a city, or around the world. We work with Space Agencies, Military and Commercial Clients to develop space-age software solutions that make a real positive impact on the world. If you currently work in this sector or a closely related sector then we would like to hear from you.
You will ideally have;
• Demonstrable experience in a computing, engineering, space or defence technology role in a commercial project delivery or bidding environment.
• Pre-Sales and/or business development.
• Ability, or potential, to lead teams in the implementation of IT projects.
You must have experience in at least one of the following areas:
• Space Sector (Earth Observation, Satellite Navigation, Space Cyber Security, Satellite Communications, Software Development)
• High-level programming preferably in an OO language or structured environment;
• High assurance or safety-related applications;
• Scientific or mathematical computing (e.g. industrialisation of algorithms, mathematical modelling)
• Requirements management process
• IT Project management
• Infrastructure Management
• Software Technical Architectures
• Involvement in the entire software design, development and deployment lifecycle
You will have a University degree or equivalent in a numerate subject, strong analytical skills, and excellent verbal and written communication skills. You should be able to work in an environment where requirements change often and quickly and have the ability to assimilate new information rapidly and derive suitable courses of action. We look for people who are flexible with a willingness to learn and develop in new areas. Given the critical nature of much of our work we need candidates who have a strong attention to detail in all aspects of their work.
Roles are expected to be based in the UK, Italy or Germany and will require full time attendance at our CGI offices. This role includes the opportunity for some occasional international travel to client sites, especially within Europe. Starting salaries depend on the current level of expertise and experience. Our roles require Security Clearance to SC Level or European equivalent, so you must have lived and worked in the EU for the past 5 years, and be willing to obtain this level of clearance if you do not already have it.
