The successful applicant will be involved with multi-year data analysis from IceCube-DeepCore focusing on atmospheric neutrino oscillation physics and preparation for the 2022/23 deployment of the IceCube Upgrade. The local group is invested in making precision measurements of tau neutrino appearance, mitigating systematic uncertainties, and developing the related analysis and experimental techniques for analyzing data from the IceCube Upgrade. A background in experimental analysis techniques and computer coding are recommended.
The position is funded by a grant from the Carlsberg Foundation to work on the IceCube Neutrino Observatory, specifically the DeepCore and upcoming IceCube Upgrade low-energy extension.
