The UKSEDS Careers Team runs the SpaceCareers.uk website - the number one resource for finding a career in the UK space sector. We showcase the diversity of people and careers in space through writing job profiles, conducting interviews with professionals working in the sector, advertising jobs and other opportunities, and writing articles to provide careers advice and get people on track and inspired for a career in space.
We want to expose people to as many potential careers in space as possible; a big part of this is having a range of job profiles, interviews and articles that describe the sorts of jobs that people can aspire to. We are seeking an enthusiastic volunteer to develop the content section of SpaceCareers.uk. You will build relationships with and work with space sector professionals to find out what their jobs involve, so that you can write new job profiles, and also update existing ones. You will also have your very own articles published on the SpaceCareers.uk website!
Why should you volunteer with UKSEDS?
Joining UKSEDS is the best way to get involved in the space sector as a student. You’ll gain all sorts of skills and experience, and have the chance to work with lots of space organisations and members of the community. Most importantly, you’ll get to work with other like-minded students to achieve something incredible, and have fun while you do!
We’re looking for someone who is comfortable working remotely, is highly motivated, and is generally a nice person. Working with UKSEDS should be something that you enjoy doing. We don’t need you to be studying a STEM degree, all you need is an interest in space!
If at any point, for any reason, you can’t do the role, that’s fine. We are students too, and we appreciate that exams, deadlines, and life often get in the way of volunteer roles like these. We will work with you to deal with these issues.
