Serco has been providing space related critical mission critical support to the RAF for over 50 years with our first contract win at RAF Fylingdales in the early 1960s. Since then we’ve gone on to support customers with space activity across satellite communication operations, air defence radar support, ballistic missile early warning and space surveillance, and space ground station support. We’ve also spread our space expertise across Europe, working with organisations such as ESA, ESOC and EUMETSAT, delivering both ground station support and earth observation data services. We even do deep space surveillance in the USA and support space launch in French Guyana.
In this rapidly changing and growing industry, we’re committed to remaining at the forefront of delivering crucial Space and Security services for our customers. And that’s where you step in.
We’re looking for a talented individual to identify these opportunities as well to understand, shape andsupport the development of a strategy and propositions on how we deliver them. Working alongside our Business Development Director of Space and Security, this individual will be someone who doesn’t just understand the importance of the Space industry but has a real passion for it.
You’ll be someone who not only knows the industry but also someone who lives, breathes and advances it. Ideally, you’ll be an individual who is already established within the Space community, or maybe you are someone who is looking for your first or second real opportunity in the industry after completing an associated STEM qualification within the field, if so, we’re keen to hear from you.
Being technically minded is important as you’ll need to take initial concepts and ideas to develop them into a deliverable service or detailed business proposition. Therefore, someone with an Engineering , Science or business degree bias within Space would be well suited. Being curious and connected is also critical and you will be a google ninja who is regularly surfing t’internet to see who is doing what in space technology and exploring the art of the possible.
