Business Operations Manager (Cyber Security)

Airbus Defence and Space in Newport, South Wales are looking for a Business Operations Manager to join their busy Cyber Security division and includes working within the UK Defence industry, requiring the applicant to be able to be security cleared to a UK DV level. (Minimum requirement SC)

Reporting directly to the Head of Cyber UK you will be responsible for all operational activities of Cyber UK to ensure that business objectives are met efficiency and effectively.


  • Support HO Cyber UK operationally in their mission in ensuring the efficient operational running of Cyber UK.
  • Direct and oversee operational staff (both within Cyber and supporting functions) to ensure they are motivated and focussed to carry out their responsibilities to the required standard.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure that core operational functions (both within Cyber and supporting functions) achieve their business objectives in a timely manner.
  • Maintain working relationships with the HO Engineering and HO Programmes to ensure effective co-ordination of all company activities in support of shared business objectives.
  • Act as Cyber UKs main advisor on all issues relating to operational functions and keep abreast of latest developments to ensure the Cyber UK maintains its competitive position.
  • Responsible for operational data collection & report preparation (eg workload, S&OP data). Resource coordination, load balancing support: resource pool coordination, management and support the HO Programmes and HO Engineering in the prioritisation and arbitration across programmes.
  • Help build, and take responsibility for maintaining, a clear dashboard to define/capture/reflect the key performance indicators relevant to Cyber UK.

Person Specification

Skills and Experience

  • A degree or equivalent and relevant professional qualifications.
  • Extensive operations management experience
  • Significant industry experience
  • Knowledge of diverse business functions and experience of managing within a matrixed organisaiton.
  • Experience in managing operations within the defence industry.
  • Experience in a supervisory / line management including people, resources and workload.
  • Be able to communicate effectively and Influence people, make tough decisions and take responsibilit
