Job Description

Within our Serco Space team, we are currently recruiting for a new lead of the Commercial Integration Cell (CIC) based in the UK Space Operations Centre (UK SpOC) at RAF High Wycombe. Working as the key point of contact for all Commercial Satellite Owner/Operator and Service Provider CIC Members, the successful candidate will be integrated within the UK SpOC team and look to develop a thorough understanding of the UK MOD space-derived services (such as SATCOM, imagery, geo-information, etc.).

The CIC lead is empowered to grow and develop the CIC to its full potential – embedded within the SpOC working alongside the analysts, intelligence officers and leadership team to enable improved and enhanced SSA and SDA to military and civilian stakeholders.

This is an exciting opportunity for a versatile individual with a keen interest in space systems to prosper in a unique role: working as an independent representative of 7 major space companies (Airbus, Avanti, CGI, Eutelsat, Inmarsat, Serco and SSTL) within the UK SpOC. The CIC was established in July 2020, and as such is within a phase of growth. The CIC lead requires a technical mind: able to understand and interpret the complex requirements of the member companies and contextualise them within the bounds of RAF working and the mission of UK Space Command and the UK SpOC.

Due to the remote location of RAF Fylingdales, public transport is not available so candidates will require a full UK driving licence, however discounted accommodation at a nearby site may be available during this training period.

Some infrequent business travel will be required, both to America and the operational sites of member companies.

The successful applicant will work with highly sensitive and classified information to ensure the protection of vital UK space assets, so will be required to undergo both SC and DV security clearance upon commencement of the role.
