Job Description

We here at Airbus are now looking for an AIT Manager to be an effective project manager / Test Campaign Lead on the Biomass project able to deploy to senior positions of responsibility on projects.

You will be capable of independently managing cost/schedule/resources on complex space projects in the field of AIT. While assisting with department functions this position is primarily deployed on projects.

After EVT the individual shall go on to lead the Launch Campaign for AIT.

Once Biomass is complete there will be opportunities supporting other projects or taking on their own project depending on their competency.

Task and Responsibilities

Responsible for the AIT function of an ENS prime project reporting to the project manager and the AIT Satellite Programmes Manager. 

Managing the AIT element of a project through phases ‘B’ and ‘C/D’ to successfully complete project PDR’s, CDR’s, Integration, test, environmental test and launch campaigns.

Provide manning and facility requirements to the AIT Satellite Programmes Manager & Facilities manager.

Produce monthly progress and cost reports to the AIT Satellite Programme Manager.

Production and maintenance of AIT plans and support to project DDV Plans, and approval of all project AIT documentation

Manage and be responsible for the administration of the project AIT teams overseas at the test facility and launch sites.

Manage and interface with Environmental facilities and launch authorities

Co-ordinate the support with major external suppliers for GSE, test facilities and launch services

Represent project AIT interests at external meetings with customers, suppliers etc. 

Be able to travel overseas to work

Person Specification

Good Experience gained within the Space Industry

Experience of assembly, integration and testing on flight hardware at Unit, Subsystem, Spacecraft level.

Degree/ HNC
