An exciting opportunity has arise for a IT CAD Service and Solutions Owner​ to join our Defence & Space business in the UK, based in Portsmouth or Stevenage.

Reporting directly to the Head of IT Engineering Physical Design CAD and DDMS for Space Systems, you will ensure the delivery and support in service for E2E (interfaces / digitalization) DDMS deployment for the legacy and UK Programmes.


You will be integrated in a multi-site team, some system management is handled locally in TLS and it will then require close connection with the rest of the technical internal team as well as the subcontractor’s team support.


You will need to be able to gain UK SC Security Clearance to undertake the role, which requires UK Citizenship and/or 5 years recent UK residency.



Plan and deliver the provision of Mechanical Design and Manufacture as part of the wider Digital Design and Manufacture Systems (DDMS) team at Airbus Defence and Space

Maintain the performance and stability of the different national DDMS platforms.

Ensure the follow-up and resolution of incidents in the UK.

Ensure the provisioning of new software packages and upgrades.

Ensure the deployment of the patches and further technical bricks delivered by the integration team. Part of these deliveries can be deployed through the DevOps technologies.

Ensure the deployment of the clients over UK when delivered by 3DX integration / packaging teams.

Monitor and track system performance against negotiated service-level agreements (SLAs).

Report on the success / errors of the deployment. Fix issues when discovered

Measure and report any discrepancy for further investigation and longer term improvement planning

CAD legacy retirement planning

Communicates improvement, updates and obsolescence management of products to the IT Product Manager.

Performs the ITIL based support processes that include incident, problem, change, configuration, and event management.

Analyses console messages, diagnoses system failures and takes corrective action in order to ensure continuity of operations, escalating to other technical teams and vendors as needed.

Supervises system backup processing, and leads disaster recovery tests Identifies and implements technologies and processes that improve the reliability, efficiency and availability of the systems environment

Person Specification

Wide CAD package experience.

Dassault 3DX - Catia V5 and V6 essential

Delmia and Apriso desirable

IT infrastructure experience desirable to enable system integration and improvement

Experience of defining solutions within an Architectural Framework as part of Model Based Systems Engineering

Bachelor degree in computer science or related engineering domain, or equivalent level of information management specific qualifications

Experience project managing simple tasks and planning
