Job Description
- Hand laminate tooling and components using pre-preg materials, core products and adhesive films
- Mould preparation including application of seal and release agents
- Debulk and final vacuum bagging of components ready for autoclave cures
- Follow work instructions, engineering manuals and customer specifications
- Training and assisting new members of staff
- Ensure parts meet the required customer quality and traceability standards
- Work within Health and Safety guidelines at all times
- Use and maintain all supplied personal protective equipment in good condition
- Maintain all company tools and equipment in a safe and clean workable condition
- Working to achieve production and quality targets set for the department
- Report non-conformities and quality related issues to the Head of Production & Quality.
We work on a rota basis, shifts from 6am-2.30pm, 8am-4.30pm & 4.30-1am Monday to Friday. The shifts will be agreed with Head of Production & Quality & never impact your time when on campus

Person Specification
GCSEs in English, Maths, and Sciences at grade 4 or above (or equivalent qualification).
Completed Level 3 qualification and at least one of the following:
- STEM subjects to meet minimum of 48 UCAS points
- Engineering
- Physics,
- Maths
- Chemistry, or Computing
Applicants with exceptional experience may be able to access this course, taken on a case-by-case basis
Skills required
· you have a strong understanding of the manufacturing engineering toolkit, and don’t mind getting stuck into shop-floor problem solving
· you understand the parameters of a manufacturing process, can assess risk, scrutinize, and improve processes with the bigger picture in mind
· You can apply innovative approaches to evaluate and develop technical solutions to solve engineering challenges
· while composites aren’t an essential requirement, if you understand composite manufacturing processes and the challenges we face, that’s a bonus.
