Open Cosmos is revolutionising the way space technology is used.

Driven by the vision of making space accessible to anyone, we provide simple and affordable space missions using nanosatellite technology. We went from design to delivery of our first nanosatellite qb01 in only four months, followed by its launch and deployment in LEO early April 2017.

The company is currently developing the next generation of satellites and end-to-end services for private and institutional customers to be launched in 2018. Based in the Harwell-Oxford Campus in the UK, we are a young and ambitious team with experience in the aerospace, electronics and software industries. The following job opportunities are available:

Front end software engineer

Open Cosmos is seeking a front-end developer to take over the development of our main web-app which is currently used for design & simulation of satellite missions, and which eventually will be used for satellite operations.

Back-end/Database Software Engineer

The successful candidate will be joining Open Cosmos’ core team in Harwell-Oxford (UK) and will be in charge of designing, validating and commissioning software for Open Cosmos’ mission development & management infrastructure. Likewise, the candidate will contribute to the expansion of Open Cosmos’ global satellite control infrastructure as member of the software team.

Aerospace Software Modelling Engineer

The successful candidate will be joining Open Cosmos’ core team in Harwell-Oxford (UK) and will be in charge of designing, building and validating software models of Open Cosmos’ flight and ground systems for a satellite simulation and control platform.

C# Software Engineer

Open Cosmos is seeking talented and enthusiastic C# developers with interest in space, to build a collection of services which will be responsible for the control and mission operations of several fleets/constellations of satellites.

Additionally we also require more C# developers (ideally familiar with PostgreSQL and RabbitMQ), to accelerate the development of our mission simulation / payload testing / payload development products.

C++ Software Engineer

We are seeking C++ software engineers to develop applications and services which will run on our satellites.  This may sometimes also include working on our kernel and drivers.

Familiarity with unit testing and mocking is essential. Development work will require using Linux on a day-to-day basis.  Experience working with kernels (e.g. Linux, FreeRTOS, etc), drivers, filesystems, and embedded platforms is a bonus

Java Software Engineer

Open Cosmos is seeking talented and enthusiastic Java developers with interest in space, to build a collection of services which will be responsible for the control and mission operations of several fleets/constellations of satellites.

Additionally we also require more Java developers (ideally familiar with PostgreSQL and RabbitMQ), to accelerate the development of our mission simulation / payload testing / payload development products.
