UKSEDS is looking for a photographer to join its volunteer team and take photos of our events and competitions.
- Edit photos and assist the marketing team in making use of them in publicity materials
- Take photos at events like the National Student Space Conference, the Olympus Rover Trials, and the Reinventing Space Conference
Applicants are required to send a short sample portfolio.
Why should I volunteer?
Joining UKSEDS is the best way to get involved in the space sector as a student. You’ll gain all sorts of skills and experience, and have the chance to work with lots of space organisations and members of the community.
As a volunteer you’re on the inside, so you’ll be the first to hear about new opportunities, and the first in line when we’re arranging events with astronauts and other space celebrities.
Most importantly, you’ll get to work with other like-minded students to achieve something incredible like building SpaceCareers.uk.
What’s it like?
We’re a team of nice friendly people who want to contribute something to the space community and have some fun along the way. The best way to get a feel for who we are how our team works is to read our Handbook. If you want to chat with us before you apply, drop us an email at [email protected]
Do I get paid?
Sadly, no. All roles are unpaid volunteer positions. We’re not paid either, and all we can offer you is the chance to gain experience and make valuable contacts.
You will be reimbursed for most expenses such as travel and purchases on behalf of UKSEDS, subject to our expenses policy.
You'll also get free tickets to all the events that we'd like you to take photos at.
Are there any restrictions?
You must be a member of UKSEDS (this takes two minutes to do) and at least 18 years old.
